| | Wong Fu Productions is a very popular group of 3 Asian American males, that make films with their creative ideas, promotions and whatnot. It's cool. I love them. Actually, I am a fan and I enjoy watching all their videos. Okay, okay, I love Wesley Chan. I'm not obsessed with him as much as I was before...it's died down, ....seriously. (I know. I admit it, so you shut it. )
Anyways, let me get straight to my point here. I think they may have been a bit discriminating towards the female audience. Why am I bringing this up?
Well, I have subscribed to Wong Fu's newsletter. I got an e-mail from the group today and they said stuff about new items that is currently available in their new store. Being the curious cat that I am, I checked it out. I wanted to see what they have in the store.
The moment I got onto the website, I was disappointed. New items consist new t-shirts...for males. I find this rather ironic. I understand that the male audience can relate to them because Wong Fu are males (so, obviously, some videos are coming from a man's perspective.) Wong Fu's audience consists a majority of FEMALES. So, isn't it ironic how they are selling stuff more for "males," rather than females -- when in reality, their fans are mostly females? I don't know, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Note: I'm not bashing on them, but I can't help but wonder why they don't offer more of their products for females? Or should I say, sell some sense of items that could show equality...per say, if you make a t-shirt for males, might as well do another one for females. I'm just saying.
P.S. I like their new shirt. Really. Too bad though, they only have it for males. Am I being too mean?
